The house is a privileged space to approach the identity, since it refers to the origin and recognition. However, the being is not always in an adequacy relation to its habitat. Edgar Allan Poe works the dialectic game between familiar and stranger in a masterly way in his short story The fall of the Ushers house. The dialectic of the house space allows to approach the specular place of I, as well as the place of absence of the subject for beyond the mirror image. It is in the fall of the specular support that appears the frightful dimension of the look.Downloads
