Abstract

This study has the objective to answering the following question: how the management of innovation network of Soletrol favored the creation of innovative processes for the development of solar water heaters as the electric shower replacement proposal? It is a descriptive and qualitative research through a case study. The key professional of Soletrol was interviewed to identify and describe the structures of innovation networks that resulted in an innovative contribution to environmental sustainability. It shows the environmental impacts of electricity in Brazil, emphasizing that the reduction of the use of electric shower can help alleviate the problems in the power distribution network, caused by the overhead of the system at peak times, bringing a review of academic literature on environmental technology innovation and innovation networks. Finally, it shows the importance of innovation networks for the development of a sustainable product with use of solar technology in Brazil.
