ERP – ENTERPRISE RESOURCES PLANNING “HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST OPTION FOR AN ENTERPRISE”

Abstract

The present economical stability in Brazil allied to the globalization process started in the ‘90s, forced the enterprises to be more competitive to face the challenges of the new world order. Investment in new technologies was one of the adapted ways for modernization. The Brazilian market, as well as the world’s one has tools of high technology. When well selected and well used those technologies help the organizations to reach their strategically objectives. The aim of this work is to systematize information about the Management Integrated Systems validation and choice process, denominated ERP -Enterprise Resources Planning. Based on the author’s professional experience, carrying out a survey with specialists and in the bibliographical revision, it was verified those systems to satisfy the excellence criteria of the National Quality Award and that the choice process must be carried out by a Project Group which is able to prioritize the essential functionalities or the strategies of the enterprise. The Enterprise Management Systems are not a solution by themselves. As it occurs with every tool, the user must know its potential to obtain the best it has to offer. We sought to demonstrate that the responsibility for the success of the use of an ERP is the enterprise’s responsibility, represented by the collaborators responsible for the product implantation, and not the supplier’s one. When the activities of each stage of a project, as the selection and implantation one of an ERP are professionally and responsibly performed, the success is the final product.
