STRUCTURE AND INTERNATIONALIZATION: THE CASE OF BEMATECH S/A

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of how the organizational structure behaved in face of its internationalization process. This company from Paraná which works with commercial automation excellence achieved national recognition since 1997 and began its internationalization process in 2003. A case study was adopted as a methodology for this work, with interviews with company directors during the months of April and May 2005, conversing the organizational design and the authority and responsibility levels behavior before and after the process was concluded. As to the assumed organizational design the internationalization consists of a organ aggregated to the original organization chart, referring the authority and responsibility. We conclude that the organizational structure of the company did not suffer great alterations due to the internationalization.
