FACILITIES MANAGEMENT SUPPORTING OF NEW PRODUCTS DEVELOPMENT: THE EXPLORATION STUDY IN AN AUTOMOBILE COMPANY AT SÃO PAULO

For the innovation process to occur satisfactorily it is necessary to develop cycle reducing, in order to extend a product economic advantage and diluting high investments faster in any new product development process - NPD. In this direction, the integration between the functional areas, core and non core is essential. The objective of this article is to investigate how and where a support area - facilities acts in the NPD in an automobile company, discovering the importance this department (services centered) occupies in a company guided to products innovation. For this reason, we use a descriptive research - case study, based on documents, archives, and interviews in a plant located at São Paulo. The results show that projects are molding many institutional forces, lead for mechanisms more tacit than formal.Downloads
