For innovation occurs continuously and efficiently within a complex environment, as the organizational, we must recognize that the process is institutionalized. Once institutionalized, the process broadens the competitive edge of products or services generated, with sustainability and legitimacy to the beneficiaries, diluting the high investments that any new products or services development has. In this sense, the convergence between institutional and innovation theories can help the understanding the mechanisms involved in this dynamic and point out the means by which the shares, infrastructure and environment to help institutionalize the innovation process. This paper is to demonstrate the innovation process in facilities management - FM, from the institutionalist perspective, using the ethnographic method. The results of theoretical study pointed out similarities between models investigated and the case study could confirm the existence of an institutionalized innovation process.Downloads
