CULTURAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN FILM PRODUCTION:
Keywords:
Cultural Entrepreneurship, Film Production, Cinema from Pernambuco.Abstract
The development of informational capitalism has contributed to growth in the production of symbolic goods and, in this context, the producers of such goods have the capability to become agents of development through a collective action. The objective of this study was to understand the entrepreneurial action of film production in the northeastern Brazilian state of Pernambuco, where recent films have received national and international recognition. In-depth interviews were carried out with three producers active in Pernambuco and discourse analysis was used to analyze these interviews. The discursive dimensions found in this analysis point to a demand for new, organic organizational formats and structures. Production management for each film evidenced organizational dynamics marked by collaboration, joint “adventures”, “invisible governance” and collegial, networked decision making. Collegiate social technology enables the generation of intellectual, social, economic and cultural capital through the multidirecionality of entrepreneurial action in the cultural sphere.Downloads
