A vida cotidiana e o mundo natural nos milagres da Saga do bispo Þorlákr (Islândia, séc. XIII)

Este artigo analisa a Saga do bispo Þorlákr, (Þorláks saga biskups, c. 1200), focando na relação de Þorlákr com a comunidade na qual vivia a partir de seus milagres pós-morte, especialmente aqueles envolvendo o clima, os animais e a vida cotidiana na Islândia medieval. Buscou-se compreender o documento enquanto construtor de uma realidade dentro de uma cultura de memória, a partir das concepções de seu autor, dentro da tradição narrativa islandesa do século XIII. Analisa-se a documentação tanto a partir da intertextualidade da saga com o repertório hagiográfico da cristandade latina, quanto a partir da representação de elementos autóctones do período em que a saga foi escrita e ganhou sentido entre sua audiência. O artigo se divide em quatro partes: a primeira, à guisa de introdução, apresenta um breve panorama sobre as sagas de bispos e a Saga de Þorlákr, além de considerações teóricas sobre as sagas enquanto fonte histórica; depois, uma crítica ao único estudo brasileiro que analisou a mesma saga sob outras perspectivas teórico-metodológicas; em seguida, uma análise histórico-antropológica dos milagres pós-morte de Þorlákr a partir do recorte mencionado acima; por fim, considerações gerais sobre os resultados das análises e sobre o objeto de estudo do artigo.
