Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
The contribution is original and unpublished, and it is not under evaluation for publication by another journal (or publisher); if it is, it must come accompanied by a justification in the section “Comments to Editor”
The files for submission are in the format .doc or .docx.
There is a minimum extension of 15 pages and maximum of 30 pages for articles, and minimum of 3 pages and maximum of 10 pages for reviews; the font must be Times New Roman, size 12 and the line spacing must be 1.5cm; the margins of the pages must be: 3cm superior and left margins, and 2cm inferior and right margins. The texts must be written in portuguese, english or spanish. Articles and reviews in other languages may be accepted pending on a decision by the Editorial Board. Templates available here.
For the titles of books, articles, thesis and dissertations, films etc., and names of journals and periodicals, originally in languages that don’t use the latin alphabet (chinese, greek, hebrew, japanese, russian etc.), an official system of transliteration to the latin alphabet (portuguese, english or spanish) must be used, following the same norms of reference presented above for the bibliographical notes. Example: Original russian alphabet: КÁУФМАН, И. И. «Точка зрения политико-экономической критики у Карла Маркса». In: «Вестник Европы», № 5, С. 427-437, май 1872 года. Official transliteration for the latin alphabet: KÁUFMAN, I. I. “Tochka zreniya politiko-ekonomicheskoy kritiki u Karla Marksa”. In: Vestnik Yevropy, n. 5, p. 427-437, maio 1872.
Aiming to attend to and safekeep the principles of academic and scientific ethics, RAN does not accept the submission of works containing plagiarism or autoplagiarism. RAN uses softwares for the detection of plagiarism and autoplagiarism in all the works submitted.
Like all other magazines linked to Portal de Revistas da USP (Web Portal for Magazines of USP), which utilize as a technological platform the Open Journal Systems (OJS), RAN bases itself on the Open Access philosophy, has its content in Creative Commons (CC BY-NC 4.0), and does not charge any submission, editorial or publication fees (Article Processing Charges, APC) from authors.
The identification of authorship has been removed from the file and the option Properties in Word, to assure the magazine’s criteria of secrecy, in case of evaluation by peers (e.g.: articles), according to instructions available in Ensuring a Blind Peer Review.
An abstract of at least 250 words must be present with the submission. The abstracts must be written in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
Notes to the text must be inserted at the footnotes of each page, numbered with arabic numerals. Also, bibliographical references must follow the norms of ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Norms), as in the following examples.

Attention: All references must be always complete. Therefore, do not use idem, ibidem, loc. cit., op. cit., among others.
For the reproduction of images (tridimensional objects, iconographic, textual, charts or tables, graphs, etc.) the authors must be aware of: presenting captions with the indication of respective rights of authorship, owner institutions of such rights and eventual rights of reproduction (copyright); authors are in charge of obtaining due authorization, which must be presented to the editors of Revista Angelus Novus accompanied by a written letter signed by the author in which they declare themselves responsible for the divulging of the images. The images, in black and white or colored, must be presented in chrome (slide), digital archives with a resolution of 300dpis, measuring 15X18cm (TIF extension ou compact versions in JPG format) or amplifications in photographic paper. Images generated by digital cameras must be of at least 2.048X1.536 pixels.
j) The author of an interview will be responsible for obtaining a declaration of assignment of rights by the interviewee. This document must be attached to the article in the system.

Serão aceitas resenhas de obras publicadas há dois (2) anos para livros nacionais e três (3) anos para livros estrangeiros, contados a partir da data de submissão da resenha no sistema. Resenhas de segundas e posteriores edições de obras nacionais ou estrangeiras serão aceitas mediante aprovação do Conselho Editorial.
