Abstract

This paper presents some reflections on the socialization processes of contemporary child, considering the triad, family, school and media, however, our main object of study is role of the media in children's socialization processes, since the media content have a strong influence in childhood. The consideration of the media as socialization institution reveals historical, cultural and social changes in socialization spaces that changed the everyday and the most personal aspects of life in society, changing the psyche and the social expectations of children around his own happiness. We understand as well, that this imposition of products and social models is the main symbolic violence by the media.
