Abstract

The Moynihan Doctrine is the main theme of this paper. The focus lies on the two 1965 majorconferences arranged by Ford Foundation, which brought together the elite of racial studies to discussThe Doctrine as a measure to solve race riots and fight against black poverty. With Richard Nixon, theDoctrine becomes an important tool of the dispute of the Black Power, and one of the roots of multiculturalism.
