Abstract

The fork of Michel Foucault’s theoretical production (1926 – 1984) in two poles, archaeological (1961-69) and genealogical (1969-79), from a methodological rupture occurred inside his own work. In this sense, the notion of discontinuity takes an unquestioned centrality: the object of his epistemological reflectionand in his own writing and thought both marked by an extreme relation with time ruptures. In this article, we will show how the Revolutionary Movement that broke out in France in May 1968 not only caused deep impact on the work of the author Les mots e les choses, but how also refuted his archaeological method.
