Abstract

This article intends to make a discussion about the Truth Commission, instituted in Brazil since 2012,articulated with the questions which constitute the "transitionaljustice"policies of the period in thecountry. Therefore, it is an exposition of the diverse mechanisms, that constitute such policies, and adiscussion about the challenges and limitations which impose themselves to this ongoing process, as wellas to think over the very nature of our redemocratization process, and how this leads the brazilian societyto political cultures imbued in conciliation and forged oblivion. In this manner, we arecompelledto alsothink on the tensions and disputes which are part of theconstruction processes of memory, truth and justice.
