Entranced earth, masterpiece by Glauber Rocha from 1967, reflecting on the historical limits of the political action of the Brazilian left in the context of the 1964 coup d’État, created, with its formal structure, a theory of history in which peripheral countries with colonial formation would live in a regime of repetition and circularity, melancholy of the end and discontinuity of the non-beginning, in relation to the modern formative process, marked by a positive social and subjective horizon. Instead of progress and social integration, repetition of violence and negative prophecy: the film as a spell, which we would still be installed.
