Abstract

Nynety nine percent of brazilian firms are family owned and administered have special problems not found in professionally administered firms. When father and son(s) work together they are influenced by a peculiar professional relationship that tends to separate them with time. The power struggle is there but repressed and often it is the cause of the firms stagnation or failure. The article analyses from the psicological point of view the needs of both fathers and sons in family owned business.
