Abstract

This study analyzes the identity of restaurants based upon employees' views, identifies the main focus policy in the activity by associating the perceived corporate identity with employees profile. Also, the corporate identity was measured by a set of variables in thirty eight restaurants, by directly applying a previously validated questionnaire to three hundred and forty two employees. In addition, the main findings show that employees incorporated an identitiy mainly based upon the activity and as a whole, they identified themselves with both in conscious performances and unconscious ones. Besides, the results also show that there is no statistically relevant relationship between employees' profile and the set of corporate identity variables as based on both V Cramer and Spearman rho correlation coefficients. Finally, the findings can be useful to the restaurants (a better change management), universities (a replication of the study), employees (a better understanding of corporate identity) and to other similar organizations (a similar study).
