Abstract

The literature review shows that, even though the number of works on the theme of evaluation and measurement in Human Resource Management has been growing, there is still much controversy about research findings. This article reports the findings of a research conducted with a sample of the biggest Brazilian companies in which the main objective was to investigate the companies' procedures for evaluating and measuring results in Human Resource Management. The research findings show that the theme is relevant but that a great number of organizations still are in a transition phase, in which only a few of the aspects in evaluation and measurement are being considered. This may be the derived from the fact that people take a partial approach to the People Management system.
