Abstract

This research aimed to examine the editorial management of Brazilian scientific journals in the administration field and propose a typology of their management models. We adopted a qualitative approach and used the multiple case study method with the following journals: RAE, RAC, RAUSP, O&S and BAR. It was identified that the management model of the journals is strongly linked to the type of supporting entity (scientific association, public/private higher education institution), which influences the financial, administrative and scientific issues of the journals.
