This study aimed to examine the relationship between isometric strength of the hip, knee, and ankle muscles and performance in the Y Balance Test and Single Leg Hop Test. Forty male recreational athletes, aged 18–30 years, participated in this study. On the first day, participants underwent anamnesis, anthropometric measurements, and performed the Single Leg Hop Test and Y Balance Test. On the second day, isometric strength assessments were conducted for the hip stabilizing muscles (abductors and external rotators), knee (quadriceps and hamstrings), and ankle (inverters and everters). Significant correlations were observed between Single Leg Hop Test performance and the strength of the hip abductors (r = 0.664), hip external rotators (r = 0.600), knee extensors (r = 0.699), and knee flexors (r = 0.495). Additionally, performance on the Y Balance Test in the posteromedial direction was significantly correlated with the strength of the hip abductors (r = 0.574), hip external rotators (r = 0.472), and knee extensors (r = 0.415). Hip abductor strength, hip external rotator strength, and knee extensor strength are key contributors to successful performance in the Single Leg Hop Test and Y Balance Test. Clinicians should assess these muscle groups to identify weaknesses and design targeted rehabilitation programs to optimize performance and prevent lower limb injuries.
