The presence of the sport in cinema: since Étienne-Jules Marey from Leni Reifenstahl Melo (2004) suggested that it is possible to identify a relationship between cinema and sport in the first moments of the constitution of the industry of the spectacle. This relationship should be understood in the context of the construction of modernity. This article, developed as a historical research, has the purpose to demonstrate, in an empirical form, the relationship between these two languages since before the first public exhibition of a film, promoted by the Lumière brothers in 1895. The basic intention is to identify the changes that happened in the representations of the sport in the cinema, related to the developing of cinematographic language and to the continue dialogues between these two manifestations.Downloads
