Considering the recent growth of historical research that has as object the institutionalized body practices, Melo (2007a), even though recognizes the importance of these efforts, demonstrates concern about the fragmentation of these initiatives. To this author, a possible solution would be the use of the method of Comparative History, a contribution to search for deep historical analyzes. Since these understandings, this article aims to present a heuristic model whose aim is to establish itself as a tool to analyze/interpret the sport modern conceptual trajectory. Built primarily from the history of the sport, we believe that it can be a useful tool not only for the development of local studies, but also to comparative investigations.Downloads
