Abstract

This descriptive paper investigated the interfaces of dance knowledge in undergraduate study and professional practice in Physical Education in São Paulo State degree courses. The participants were twenty teachers working area. The questionnaire and document analysis of the programs of the disciplines related to dance four higher education institutions to which the subjects were submitted in its early formations were used. The data were analyzed through content analysis and the results indicated that knowledge to professional practice, allowing the texture of some relationships between training and professional performance. We highlight being necessary to clearly present the methodological and evaluative processes involving dance, creative experiences, the context of historical, cultural and social meanings hovering over her as key elements in the training of future teachers of Physical Education.
