Tiro de guerra 19 Rio Branco: notes about the sports institutionalization in Curitiba (1909-1910)

This article aims to make notes about the sports institutionalization held in Curitiba city, focusing on the called "Tiro de Guerra 19 Rio Branco". The main source was the research journal "Daily Afternoon" and were selected all editions between June 1909 and October 1910. It is concluded that this process was constituted by the social militarization that happened in Brazil during the first two decades of the twentieth century. After all it was necessary to nationalize Brazilian youth, mainly in a city like Curitiba, which was an urbanity marked by the figure of the European immigrant.Downloads
