The importance of the school for the literacy of the families from the rural communities

Studies carried through in different sociocultural contexts had evidenced that in the school the amount of times and books is valued the one that child has access in detriment of other modalities of literacy. In this work, it was objectified to characterize the events of literacy of the parents of pupils of the elementary school (1th,2th, 3th and 4th) from a rural community. Individual interviews and survey of materials of literacy in its houses had been carried. The data had disclosed that the school experience of the students it was positive on the access of the parents the literacy events. It was evidenced that the learning of the procedures and the functionality of the writing and the reading of the families improve the contact with textbooks and historys books of its children.Downloads
