Abstract

This article discusses the contribution of the National Truth Commission Report (CNV) in identifying the responsibility of the authorities who, at a high governmental level, determined, permitted and controlled the practise of serious human rights violations during the dictatorship in Brazil (1964 - 1985). The article’s profile is historical, political, and juridical, using as resources documents and testimonies mentioned in the National Truth Commission Report.
