Abstract

The reason for the publication of this article is the author's concern with the quality of nursing assistance in psychiatric hospitals and the differences found among nursing schools in the teaching of psychiatric nursing to undergraduate students. She tried synthetize the basic knowledge needed for understanding the therapeutic nurse-patient relationship.
