Letrados e almocreves: um tratado árabe do século VIII

Abstract

In Arabic, epistography in a profane manner has begun developing towards the end of seventh century as earlier manifestations are of less importance. Tanks to c Abd-ul-Hamíd, al-Kátib, the genre has gained somewath “literary” characteristics. The study will focus on a translation of his main work – “Epístola aos letrados” (“Epistle to learned men”), wich includes rules of behaviour for this group.
