Abstract

An Iraqi imam traveled to Brazil in a ship that belonged to the Ottoman Empire in the latter half of the 19th century. ‘Abdurrahman al-Baghdádi stayed about three years in Rio de Janeiro, Bahia and Pernambuco. In the book that Al-Baghdádi wrote about his experience, he describes Brazilian cities, its people, its flora and fauna.
