Abstract

The question “How the Chinese culture can be preserved in another culture” is not easy To be answered. In the beginning, it is indicated that the Chinese language itself, which is the heart of its culture, will be the first to disappear. Howerer, the last evidence of Chinese language will be progressively replaced, while the children of Chinese immigrants begin to integrate intro the Brazilian society. Consequently, the Portuguese will be the basic language. If there is no intereference of other factors, the Chinense language (including the dialects) in the Chinese community is condemned be replaced. These factours could be, according to current circumstances, the Chinese large immigration which could save its language. Another relevant factor could be the increasing Chinese economical and political power that could stimulate not only the children of chinese immigrants, but also could encourage foreigners to learn the Chinese language.
