Abstract

Lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus (D.C.) Stapf) is an important plant used for medicinal purposes. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of the organic fertilization on the contents and accumulations of nutrients (K, N, P, Ca and Mg), possibilitating better knowledge about the cultivation of lemon grass in Brazil. Four doses of organic fertilizer were tested (5, 10, 15, and 20 t/ha), in two different periods (rainy and dry seasons). The analysis of the variance demonstrated significant differences in relation to the contents and accumulation of some nutrients during the two evaluated periods.
