Os canídeos na Antiga Mesopotâmia: novas abordagens para o estudo das representações dos animais nas fontes cuneiformes (3º - 1º milênio AEC)

Resumo

Este trabalho trata das representações de um grupo específico de animais, os canídeos, nas fontes cuneiformes sumérias e assiro-babilônicas. O objetivo é demonstrar que estes textos não buscam representar os animais eles mesmos, mas que devem ser compreendidos como o reflexo da maneira pela qual as populações humanas da região concebiam suas interações com estas espécies. Para isso, mobilizaremos fontes textuais de tipologias diversas, oriundas de um vasto quadro cronológico indo do fim do 3° milênio AEC até a época neo-babilônica (626-539 AEC). O material foi estudado segundo uma abordagem transversal, considerando as características fisiológicas e comportamentais dos canídeos, evidenciando assim, graças ao suporte de disciplinas como a zoologia e a etologia, como os textos cuneiformes refletem esquemas interativos entre estes animais e as populações humanas.

É pósdoutoranda no Departamento de História da Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas da Universidade de São Paulo e membro do Laboratório do Antigo Oriente Próximo (LAOP) na mesma instituição. Membro associado do laboratório UMR 5133 – Archéorient (CNRS – Université Lumière Lyon 2 – Maison de l’Orient et de la Méditerranée) de Lyon, França.
