It therefore intends to contribute to the qualified debate in the historiographical scope directed to a wider public, in addition to serving as a means of disseminating Brazilian university production.

  • MINIMUM DEGREE FOR ARTICLE SUBMISSION:

            PhD IN PROGRESS (authorship and co-authorship)

Peer Review Process

The process of evaluating the texts submitted to Revista de História is as follows:

  • initial screening, by the Editorial Committee, to verify that the text meets the formal specifications of the Journal;
  • The Editorial Committee meets regularly to evaluate the articles and to decide whether or not they are within the editorial profile of Revista de História. Once accepted, the article will follow peer review procedures.
  • submission to two ad hoc referees, appointed by the Editorial Committee (ensures the maintenance of the double blind evaluative system);
  • the two opinions are evaluated by the Editorial Committee, which decides on:

    1. the need, or not, to send a third party referee, if the 2 opinions are conflicting;
    2. the approval of the text for publication without the requirement for reformulations;
    3. the approval of the text for publication, subject to the implementation of the amendments suggested by the referees or by the Board itself;
    4. the rejection of the text for publication, because it does not meet the criteria and requirements of the Journal.

Important

  • In the case of approval conditioned to the implementation of amendments, the Editorial Committee asks the authors to respond point by point to the criticisms made by the referees and clearly highlight the changes made in the new version of the text.
  • In some cases, a new request for reformulation may be made within a maximum of 30 days. The new version is evaluated by the referees and the Editorial Committee, which also decides on the final approval or rejection of the text.
  • If the suggested changes are very substantive, Revista de História may suggest: a) the complete reformulation of the article, ending the present step of the evaluative process; b) the new submission and initiating another phase of analysis of the article.
