Plagiarism Prevention

ARA Journal uses iThenticate, a service provided by CrossRef, to identify similarity between texts in previously published scientific documents. More information can be found at: https://www.crossref.org/services/similarity-check.

Use of Generative Artificial Intelligences

ARA Journal follows COPE guidelines and does not allow the inclusion of generative Artificial Intelligences as authors of submitted texts, nor does it allow excerpts of submitted texts to have been generated by generative Artificial Intelligences, since the authors are fully responsible for the content of their contributions, in the various types of submissions that the journal receives, namely: articles, textual essays, visual essays, critical reviews and interviews.

For clarification, access the original COPE guidelines at: https://publicationethics.org/cope-position-statements/ai-author.

Ethical principles

ARA Journal is committed to ethical principles and is willing to publish corrections, clarifications, and retractions when necessary.

Regarding ethical complaints about a published manuscript or article, the editors will take the necessary measures to investigate any complaints and any corrections or retractions.

Authors who publish in this journal agree to the following terms:

1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under the https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.pt_BR Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which allows sharing of the work with acknowledgement of authorship and initial publication in this journal.

3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to publish and distribute their work online (e.g. in institutional repositories or on their personal pages) after the editorial process is complete, as this can increase the impact and citation of the published work.

Digital Preservation Policy

The ARA Journal uses the LOCKSS system - PKP Preservation Network as a strategy for digital preservation of content.

The journal uses the DOI as a digital identifier for objects, in addition to linking the publication to the authors' ORCiD. The linking is done via CROSSREF.

Responsibility of Editors

Editors are responsible for deciding whether to forward the submissions received. The journal's policies must comply with legal requirements on copyright infringement and plagiarism (COPE / Committee on Publication Ethics Code of Conduct and Good Practices).

Editors must evaluate submitted works without taking into account the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality or political philosophy of the authors.

Editors should not disclose information about any submissions received, except to reviewers and editorial advisors.

Editors may decline to review submissions in which they have a conflict of interest, whether due to collaboration or other ties to any of the authors. When necessary, the editor may designate a specific, impartial editor to handle the editorial process for a given paper.

Editors should take appropriate action when ethical complaints are made regarding a submitted or published paper.

Editors should always keep the identity of reviewers anonymous and treat submissions as confidential documents.
