Abstract

Within the Environmental Design area it is considered as very useful the method of analysis and representation of the urban landscape by transect with the concept of “Smart Code” used by the architects of the “New Urbanism”, led by Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk.

The subject AUP 5853-Environmental Design of the postgraduate course of FAUUSP aims to improve the theoretical and practical education on urban and architectural interventions in the environment, within an ecosystem vision applied to the architecture and urbanism, currently having as analysis instrument the usage of transect, which integrates the existing zoning codes to new codes of analysis, among others the ecological zoning, making the Smart Code an open structure that provides criteria of performance calibration for sustainability and urban resilience to urban and regional locations.
