Abstract

This paper presents the translation, briefly introduced and commented, of Chapter II, Part II from Das Neu-Eröffnete Orchestre, written by Johann Mattheson. The text is about the musical keys’ properties and their power to express affections. Mattheson based his opinion on authors like Apulejus, Plato, Corvino and Kircher.
