The Teresa Cristina Collection of the National Museum of Rio de Janeiro: possibilities of a Collection

This article aims to present Teresa Cristina Collection of Rio de Janeiro National Museum in its educational and research opportunities, focusing on vessels with iconography from Magna Graecia’s region. The collection, also called Mediterranean Collection, is a compound of objects produced by Etruscans, Greeks and Greek colonies established in southern Italy, as well as Romans, especially those from the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Through a specific set of pieces, the aim is to make a comparison with other collections in the world, to prove that Teresa Cristina Collection is a significant collection and can provide suitable material for study and research.
