This text approaches cultural change in Ancient Greece through the analysis of a specific artifact, coin. Our purpose is to demonstrate that the adoption of coinage by the Greeks mirrors deep transformations in society as a whole. At the same time it is our aim to make clear the way coinage itself soon became an important vehicle for these changes.Downloads
