Abstract

Analising the debate about which goals leaners of mathematics should attain, this paper relates the main philosophies pertaining to that basic knowledge: Instructional Management Sistems (IMS); Learning Centers; Structure of Knowledge, Mathematics Laboratory; and Miniature Society Concept. By Studying what each philosophy emphasizes, professors and supervisors can more effectively help students to have a better achievement in mathematics.
