The work refers to the incidence of causes of rejections of carcasses and visceras of beef in Central Brasil in the years of 1946 and 1947, and the losses caused by them. Comparing the datas referring to these two years we may conclude: 1) The loss caused by the principal causes of rejections of visceras and its variation over the total loss is indicated as follows. 2) The rejections of livers are of great interest; in both years the loss caused by them was about 88% of the total loss. 3) The telangiectasis was, in both years, the principal cause of liver rejections. 4) Within the total of slaughtering, the viscems that showed the greatest percentage of rejection were. 5) The percentage of loss caused by infectuous diseases changed from 1.66 in 1946 to 1.79 in 1947. 6) The percentage oj loss caused by parasitary diseases changed from 20,18 in 1946 to 21.37 in 1947. 7) The percentage of incidence of tuberculosis in carcasses changed from 0.24 in 1946 to 0.35 in 1947. 8) The percentage of incidence of cysticercosis in carcasses changed from 1 to 1.52.
