The first results of an investigation made on bovine Trichomonas are given in this paper. Forty four bulls, from the State of S. Paulo, belonging to several owners were examined. All bulls were being used for artificial insemination. Four bull averaging 9.09% were found to be infected with T. foetus. Diagnosis of the parasite was made by direct examination and coloured by Laveran’s and ferric haematoxylin method (after A maral and Ramalho). We noted that none of the infected animals showed local or general symptoms of the disease. We describe minutely the technique which were used in our work with the intention of making future research easier.
