Abstract

Total cholesterol in blood serum was determined in 184 thoroughbred racing horses, males and females, varying between 2 and 7 years of age. Statistical data showed that the general average is 121 mg per. cent. A significant difference betweer males (119 mg%) and females (125 mg%) has been observed. Likewise, total cholssterol in blood serum varies within age, being higher in animals 2 years old, decreasing in the older ones (7 years old); these variation has been proved very significant according to the statistical analyses.
