Abstract

The main tests for the evaluation of the hemogram also including the serum proteins dosage of the Thoroughbred Horses were done with the blood of 60 of these equines considered winners, 30 of them being males and 30 females. The results obtained, submited to the statistical analysis, lead us to conclude that the males presented higher number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin rate, hematocrit and number of monocytes and mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobinic concentration and number of lymphocytes lower than the females. Significant differences were only found after the 30 minutes in the erythros sedimentation test, being higher for the females. Baring the global proteins and their fractions no significant difference was verified. The results, expressed in confidence intervals, are in the tables.
