The adaptation of the IFRA technique for bovine serum was consequent to the modification of the technique used in human serum, because the nervous cells membrane actuated as a barrier to the bovine antibodies. This difficult was eliminated by the treatment of the Amonn horn smears from dogs with rabies, with a hipotonic (0,15M) solution of sacharose during 30 minutes for 37°C. Others modifications were: the use of 40% CVS suspension for the antibodies neutralization and the fractionation of bovine normal serum through DEAE-CELLULOSE column.
