Histology (sheep), Heart (sinus node)Abstract
The topography and the microscopic morphology of the sinus node were studied in Corriedale sheep by histological methods. This structure is located at the sulcus terminalis and at the dihedral angle formed by the junction of the cranial caval vein with the right atrium. The morphological characteristics of the specialized cells of the node, as well as the different type of fibers that compose the connective stroma are examined. Glycogen is abundant in the cytoplasm of the specialized cells of the node.
