Contribution to the study of the liver excretory system in wild animals. V. Biliary ducts of the capybara (Hydrochoerus Hydrochoeris)

The biliary ducts of 15 capybaras (Hydrochoerus Hydrochoeris) , adults (10 males and 5 females) Were studied by dissection. The results show that: 1) the ductus choledocus results of the union of ramus principalis dexter, ramus principalis sinister and ductus cysticus (66.7%), ramus principalis dexter and ramus principalis sinister (19.8%) or ductus hepaticus and ductus cysticus (13.3%); 2 ) the ductus hepaticus is characterized in 13 .3% of the cases and is always formed by the convergence of the ramus principalis dexter and ramus principalis sinister; 3) the ductus cysticus, has not affluents in some cases (92.4%); in others case it receives the ramus medialis lobi dextri associated to the ramus lobi quadrati (6.7%). The ductus cysticus contributes directly to the formation of the ductus choledocus by union with the ramus principalis dexter and the ramus principalis sinister (66.7%) or the ductus hepaticus (13.3%) and it integrates, sometimes (19.8%), the system of the ramus principalis dexter system; 4) the system of the ramus principalis dexter is integrated, mainly, by the ramus lobi dextri lateralis (100.0%), ramus processi caudati (100.0%), ramus lobi dextri medialis (92.4%), ductus cysticus (19.8%), ramus lobi quadrati (6,7%), and by innominate little ducts from the lobus dexter lateralis, lobus dexter medialis, lobus caudatus (pars supraportalis, processus papillaris and processus caudatus); 5) the system of the ramus principalis sinister is composed, mainly, by the ramus lobi sinistri lateralis (100.0%), ramus lobi sinistri medialis (100.0%) and ramus lobi quadrati. This system is also integrated by innominate little ducts from lobus sinister lateralis lobus sinister medialis, lobus quadratus and lobus caudatus (pars supraportalis and processus papillaris).
