Abstract

Festive tributes to the Holy Spirit have been carried out since the 14th century by devotion of Dona Isabel, Queen of Portugal. They also became a tradition in Brazil due to  he colonization process. In Mogi das Cruzes one can find pagan remains referring to the ancient European Mayans in the procession known as Entrada dos Palmitos. Commensality is another aspect that refers both to ancient feast and Catholic religiousness. The objective is to highlight the Feast of Divine as a space of representation and  such pagan reminiscences manifestations as forms of popular resistance in face of society emancipation.
