Abstract

This article attempts to detect and accompany Mário de Andrade´s changes in perception through analysis of his poetical works, especially in "Prefácio Interessantíssimo", a composition which is emblematic of Brazilian Poetry´s passage through that wich´s caldron of innovation, the Modernismo of 1922 Moving from poetic theories and solutions of this time to auto-analysis and confessions of "passadismo", Mário de Andrade constructs a composite poetic fabric where values such as lyric "unity", "exemption" and "distanciation" make way for "plurality", "participation" and "analysis" with which modern an would give substance to the aesthetic experience as the direct relationship between consciousness and the material of the world.
