Abstract

it was not the mercantilist and capitalist mentality, neither the new knowledge and improvements in the agricultural field, handiwork and industrial the best contribution of the European immigration to the Brazil's development, at the last century. The best contribution was cultural, attached to work concept, family, savings, community and future. Following the immigration's phases of a new ten of thousands of italian-tyroleses in Brazil, R. M. Grosselli ransoms the liberals work and utopia who pawned to construct the basis of a new Brazil, based on the little rural property on the way of social democracy on which it resembled. Lost they the battle? In accordance with the author the South region of Brazil shows the validity of the liberals hypothesis and, still today, it is a possible way to befollowed throughout the country.
