Author Guidelines

The Revista do IEB is organized in four sections as follows:

1. Articles about Brazilian studies, being certain that every number will present at least three thematic areas which integrate IEB regiment;
   • Reviews;
   • Documents;
   • IEB news.
2. Articles are submitted to two (02) reviewers’ evaluation, being respected the work authenticity and originality.
   • In cases of disagreement, a third reviewer is consulted.
3. The journal reserves itself the right to adapt the material to its editorial project.

Formats

The material must be a Microsoft Word document, A4 format, 2,5 cm margins, double-spaced paragraphs, no first line tab, Arial 12 (except where specified).

Articles: 30.000 to 52.000 touches (spaces counted)

Reviews: 5.000 to 20.000 touches (spaces counted)

News and documents: up to 20.000 touches (spaces counted)

Translations must be sent with the authorization of the original text author;

The images reproduction remains under the responsibility of the article author.

On the first page apart from the text body must be: 
Article title in Portuguese and English
Author(s) name(s)
Institution (department, faculty or school, etc.)

If the work was developed under a financial aid or fee, the granter name must be mentioned in the beginning of the text, just a line under the author name;

The abstract must be 10 lines long at most in Portuguese and 10 lines at most in English
There must be between 3 and 5 keywords both in Portuguese and English
The article must be within the rules structured by ABNT NBR 6022/ 2003 
Illustrations, graphs, and charts must have their respective subtitles
Notes must be in the numbered footnote format within the rules structured by ABNT.

The Journal does not take responsibility for the writing style or concepts emitted by the article author or collaborators.

The articles sent to evaluation and eventual publishing by the Revista do Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros must be submitted in digital and printed in one (01) copy.

Every article must be accompanied by an author’s declaration in the following terms:

"Autorizo a Revista do Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros a publicar o artigo (citar o título) de minha autoria / assim como me responsabilizo pelo ineditismo do mesmo e, também, pela cessão dos autores quanto ao uso das imagens, caso seja aceito para a publicação.”

Eu, (colocar nome completo), CPF (indicar), RG (indicar), residente no endereço (indicar), assino a presente declaração como expressão absoluta da verdade e me responsabilizo integralmente, em meu nome e de eventuais co-autores, pelo material apresentado." (Place and date)
