Abstract

TThe text aims to discuss and problematize on the potential socio-cultural urban space, creating parallel and entering the museum institutions in this context, reflecting on the role of architecture as a mediator of these relationships also pointing to broader issues such as limits and reciprocity between the aspects involving public and private space, reviewing or revisiting the need and architecture demarcation role facing the city in two contemporary case studies: the Bilbao Guggenheim Museum, new Iberê Camargo Foundation headquarters in Porto Alegre.
